Creature Comforts
By Trisha Ashley
Published by Avon (26 February 2015)
ISBN: 978-0007580446

Publisher's description
Izzy has broken off her engagement to her feckless fiancé Kieran and returned to her childhood home - the sleepy village of Halfhidden.

She soon realises that life in the village is anything but peaceful - for one thing she's living with her mad aunt Debo and her pack of dogs, and for another, Izzy has a lot of unanswered questions.

When she was a teenager, Izzy was involved in a terrible accident, involving various inhabitants of Halfhidden. As she sets out to discover what actually happened on the night of the accident, she realises that her painful past is actually standing in the way of her future happiness. So when a handsome stranger comes to Halfhidden will she let love back into her life?

My verdict
Creature Comforts is light hearted and funny in places, making this an ideal summer beach read. But it's not the best Trisha Ashley book I have read, as it was a bit predictable in places.

I liked the descriptions of village life, Izzy's mad aunt and all the dogs. And I enjoyed the fact that this wasn't straight-forward 'boy meets girl' chick lit, as Izzy was searching for the truth about a car accident in her past.

But I did get confused with all the different characters and found that the love interest story was just a little too slow for me.

I received an Advance Reader Copy through the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
